Prancer
The Dillinger Escape Plan
Describe a concert that changed your perspective on music or life. Pick a song from that artist or band.
I really like chaotic-sounding music, and seeing The Dillinger Escape Plan live a while ago left a huge impression on me.
From their energy on stage to the sound and the performance itself, it was an experience on another level, something I had never experienced before at that point in my life.
So today I’m going with their song “Prancer”.
What artist or band changed your music taste forever? Pick your favorite song of theirs.
It's definitely Blink, which I've posted songs by them before here on my profile.
They were the gateway band for everything I like now. Because of them I got to discover more bands and broaden my taste from entry-level pop punk.
Today I'm picking "Anthem Pt. 3" from their latest work. 🫰

Narrative of Soul Against Soul
AFI
Pick a song from an artist or band that’s had the biggest impact on your life.
Yesterday someone actually asked me what my favorite band of all time was. I used to think I had a clear answer, like I had one “favorite” band throughout my whole life, but honestly (and now that I think about it), I don’t really like the idea of sticking with one band forever.
We change as people. Our tastes change as we grow older.
So when I tried to answer, I realized that maybe AFI is the band that’s had the biggest impact on me, without me even noticing it.
They’ve influenced a lot of the bands and artists I’ve loved the most, so their impact on my life has been both direct and indirect.
So yeah, let’s just say (for now) that, that band is AFI.

What is a song that instantly energizes you?
I got a lot, but first one that comes to mind right now is "Stronger Than Hate" by Sepultura!
There you go. 😎
With Arms Wide Open (Remastered 2024)
Creed
Did you sing along to anything today? Describe the moment.
Did I sing along today? Unfortunately yes.
“With Arms Wide Open” by Creed came on randomly and I went FULL early-2000s mode. 😂
Cringe? Maybe. But it reminded me of high school and honestly made my day.

It's gotta be "Master of Puppets" man. It completely changed how I understood heavy music.... The structure, the dynamics and that clean middle section showed me metal could be aggressive and sophisticated at the same time.

Think back to your childhood: What is your earliest music memory? Share that song and your story!
I don't recall! It's hard man.
Mmm, I don't know, maybe it was a song from a video game, I think it was maybe the Corneria theme from Star Fox on the SNES.
At the time I was blown away by this game and its music was no exception. It think it was so badass (and I still think it is 😎).
Music from video games also helped shape my personal taste.

What song makes you feel like you're exactly where you're supposed to be?
Most of the time, it’s anything by the bands I’ve carried with me for years. I always find my way back. Tonight, I’m choosing "White Bikes" by my heroes Thursday.
It's a newer track I haven’t fully lived with yet, but one that feels like the right place to be right now.
