I promise I didn’t intend two have my first to posts be Fontaines D.C. In fact, I actively tried to not do this. But here we are.

This song has been spinning today for me. It’s one of those songs that come along where I’ve been asking myself, “Did this band know how great and beautiful and wonderful this song was when they finished it?”

And I know bands usually don’t add a song to an album unless they’re happy with it. But, to me, this is one of those songs that is just … perfect. There’s not a note out of place, great lyrics, and a nostalgia feeling for the 80s post-punk/new wave era that will pierce my Gen X black heart every day.
