What song do you associate with your biggest accomplishment?

First time I met my wife, we ended up discussing Leonard Cohen. I love his music. But I couldn’t even name a single song of him when she asked for my favourite songs.

That she still gave me her number, bless her.

When No Prayer was released I was so shocked at how bad it was I sold all my Maiden records.

This song kept being played when I was at my local pub, and I hated it. It was a clear sign of how bad Maiden had become.

Then 20 years later my daughter started singing along to this song. And Live, it works. It’s great!

I can’t wait to see Iron Maiden live in London next month.

I was seven years old. Standing in my bed, holding my guitar, rocking to this song.

The bed broke, and every time I listen to this song, I’m reminded of that.

This song and this album created a new genre. To this day it manages to give me goosebumps.

This song got stock in my brain on the first playthrough of the album.

It’s just so much fun.

I was 12 and she was 13. We spent a lot of time together. I not only liked her, I really liked her.

I learned that we were moving. I was devastated of course.

I finally told her that I liked her, but that we would move soon. As I gave her a mixtape to remember me by, she told me she knew I liked her. «But your just a small boy, I like them older» she said. She kissed me and said goodbye.

Sweet Dreams was the opening track. And it can still take me back to that day.

I remember picking up the 7” like it was yesterday. Played on repeat at that nights party.

My dad was the biggest influence on my musical taste growing up.

I can still remember when I started noticing Cohen. It was this song and I immediately asked my dad to learn me this song on guitar. I think I was around five or six.

I still remember the anger I felt when I learned the story behind the song.

An incredible song from one of the greatest artists ever.
