Somebody was talking about Empty Glass by Pete Townshend, and so I’ve played this version (The Who) several times already this morning.
Not released until the extended version of Who Are You, I prefer it, and I think it fits, or would have fitted, nicely on the album proper.
My favourite Townshend solo stuff started with Who Came First and ended with Rough Mix but as time goes on I’m exploring, and appreciating, other albums too. I dismissed The Iron Man for example years ago and am only now realising it has something I had missed back then.
