What is a song that instantly energizes you? Tons of songs. I have a playlist I used when I went for a run. All high energy rockmusic. But it starts with Beastie Boys’ Sabotage though. It’s hard to choose from that list but I go with Dead Sara. The former band of today’s singer of Linkin Park, Emily Armstrong. The guitar intro from Siouxsie Medley gets me in the song immediately.

I grew up with The Golden Age of Hiphop. The 80s. I heard samples, breaks. I wanted to know more. That’s when I first heard of this man called Jimi Hendrix. For me, this changed everything for what music could be.

Think back to your childhood: What is your earliest music memory?

That would be Love is All by Roger Glover. Especially the videoclip with the frog and all the animals. It kept me glued to the TV according to my parents!

What song makes you want to take a midnight drive?

I once found a playlist on Spotify called Arcade Nights & Long Drives, filled with synthwave and outrun music. So here's Dutch artist Timecop 1983 for you. Get in the car, roll down the windows and enjoy the night.

What's a song that makes you want to learn an instrument?

I grew up in the midst of the Golden Age of Hiphop, in the 80s. Some might not consider it an instrument, but when I saw Grandmaster Flash in the seminal documentary Big Fun in the Big Town on his turntables... or the other DJ's in the movies Beat Street and Wild Style... I learned you can make music from anything, anywhere. Just use your imagination and go wild.

Share a song that makes time feel like it's standing still.

First time I heard this song in 1992-ish, it blew me away. A tribute to the great Andy Wood. Sung by his close friend and one of the greatest voices in rockmusic. This track always stops me at my feet.

One song that sounds like magic to me.... I think that's Johnny Cash with "Rose of my Heart." It's the song we played at our wedding as the opening song. It's still so beautiful and vulnerable. The old Cash singing about the love for his wife as a young man.
