What's your favorite song about friendship?

My friends look out for me like family!

Busy day but got to listen to a few new albums, including Lorde’s Virgin. Pretty solid listen, so will have to give it another pass.

My oldest graduates high school tomorrow. My man of the year. 😄

What's a song that makes you want to learn an instrument?

Eddie Van Halen definitely influenced me to take guitar lessons when I was a kid. Unfortunately my teacher at the time took a long, slow path using music I was in no way interested to learn so I quit. I've been teaching myself ever since. (And mediocre enough to be in an indie rock band in college!)

I don't have a commute, so I'm going to skip today's prompt.

I did fall in love with a new release today though... and that's S.G. Goodman's Planting by the Signs, which I've listened through twice today already... it's going to be the featured release for the coming Crucial Releases post... so stay tuned for that!

What song makes you feel nostalgic for a time you never lived through?

I'd like to think if I lived in the 60s, I'd have the same ideals and approach to life as I do now... In reality though, America has always been good at showing us who we really are, so I guess whether it's the 60s, the 80s, or today... we haven't made enough progress.

But, thinking about the prompt specifically, this song does make me nostalgic for a time I've never lived through: one where everyone has equity.

What's your go-to song for getting ready in the morning?

I generally don't get hooked on specific songs as a sort of ritual, regular thing... I'm too all over the place with my music listening to ever pick just one song or even album.

Share a song that sounds like your favorite weather.

My favorite weather is probably a summer thunderstorm after a hot day. The needed rain and cool air it brings is just so refreshing.

This Mogwai song is the best match I can think of, with its multiple beautiful quiet parts interspersed with just heavy, chaotic noise.

Yup. Definitely on the worst timeline.

What song makes you feel like you're floating?

Thought this one was going to be easy, but in the end had to go with one of my favorite songs from The Sea and Cake.
