I picked this song because I heard it today for the first time in probably 10-15 years. Forgot how good they were!
As far as a newer band covering the song, I’d maybe go with Geese, Caroline, or Racing Mount Pleasant. I think all three bands owe at least a little bit to CYHSY and in the case of Racing Mount Pleasant, it would be super interesting with horns.
