Not going with a prompt today... and past me would be shocked with current me picking two musical songs in three days, but I am going with "Purpose" from Avenue Q.

As I mentioned a few days ago, my son was up for a pretty huge high school musical theater award and the ceremony was last night.

Unfortunately he didn't make it to the finals and get to perform the song he worked on, so I'll choose that song today to give him some props for how hard he worked to get to where he did...

I would have loved to see him perform last night (obviously), but not just as his dad... I think he would have stood out quite a bit because all of the finalist song choices were pretty darn serious and dramatic... and Avenue Q is serious , but in a fun and wacky way, if you know anything about that musical. It totally fits his comedic timing and personality, so it was a good choice for him... even if it wasn't necessarily what the judges were looking for in the competition.

So proud of that kid!
