What’s your favorite collaboration between artists?

Another tough question! I will have to go with one of the first collabs between El-P and Killer Mike, as it also led us to Run the Jewels.

This one also features Despot, who is kind of an underground hip hop cult fave. He’s got tons of features but never released more than a single of his own, despite always saying he was finishing his own album. That’s been going on for over 10 years so…

El-P has been one of my favorite hip hop artists since the early 2000s, between his solo work and his label, Definitive Jux. I spent a lot of eMusic credits buying tracks from his part of the hip hop world.

He’s a severely underrated lyricist and one of the most unique producers going in hip hop, so I’m glad he’s finally getting his due in Run the Jewels.
