Suspicious Minds
Fine Young Cannibals
Sometimes I start singing songs for no reason. (Okay, more than sometimes.) While we were cleaning up in the kitchen tonight, I busted out with what I thought was a passable Elvis Presley singing "Suspicious Minds" but FunkyPlaid did not remember it at all. He did remember the Fine Young Cannibals cover, which was marvelously perplexing!
What song makes you want to take a midnight drive?
This one's a little on the nose, but I can't help it.
Whee, a delightfully catchy song about a parasocial relationship!

This came on today, courtesy of my favorites mix. I forgot how much I loved it.

What's your favorite song to sing in the car?
Right now, it's this one. Every time I sing it I want to re-watch the "Sherlock" episode with the line that inspired it.

I'm trying not to overthink these prompts. (Me, not overthink something, ha.)
What's a song you only listen to when you're completely alone?
so it's over
though the moon came out with the sun
and I'll only shine like diamonds for you
if I'm the only one
and I'm not going anywhere
but you're too weak to care

What's your favorite opening line from any song?
There are so many! But this is the one I thought of first.
Ladies, let me tell you about myself
I got a dick for a brain
And my brain is gonna sell my ass to you
Last.fm tells me I started listening to Ruel in late 2019. 2019 was a big year for me; I got a promotion at work, and I still thought that my biggest challenges would be learning how to grow into that new role. When I listen to this song, the lyric "I'm tired of all of this free time" flits out of my grasp; 2020 would soon suck all the marrow from my free time. I still love singing this in the car, though.
