Change (Taylor’s Version)
Taylor Swift
What's your favorite song about change?
I don't know if it's my favorite song about change, but it's the first song about change that comes to mind. It's from my most played artist each and every year, Taylor Swift and the name of the song is simply Change!
[Verse 1]
And it's a sad picture, the final blow hits you
Somebody else gets what you wanted again and
You know it's all the same, another time and place
Repeating history and you're getting sick of it
But I believe in whatever you do
And I'll do anything to see it through
[Chorus]
Because these things will change
Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
This revolution, the time will come
For us to finally win
And we'll sing hallelujah, we'll sing hallelujah
Oh, oh
[Verse 2]
So we've been outnumbered, raided, and now, cornered
It's hard to fight when the fight ain’t fair
We're getting stronger now, find things they never found
They might be bigger but we're faster and never scared
You can walk away, say we don't need this
But there's something in your eyes says we can beat this

Runnin' Down a Dream
Tom Petty
What song makes you feel like you're in a dream?
Runnin' Down A Dream by Tom Petty is a song that makes me feel like I'm in a dream or dreaming. Somewhat because of the lyrics but also because of the video that is 100% worth watching.
[Verse 1]
It was a beautiful day, the sun beat down
I had the radio on, I was drivin'
Trees went by, me and Del were singin'
"Little Runaway," I was flyin'
[Chorus]
Yeah, runnin' down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin' on a mystery
Goin' wherever it leads
Runnin' down a dream
[Verse 2]
I felt so good, like anything was possible
Hit cruise control and rubbed my eyes
The last three days, the rain was unstoppable
It was always cold, no sunshine
[Chorus]
Yeah, runnin' down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin' on a mystery
Goin' wherever it leads
Runnin' down a dream

Letters from Home
John Michael Montgomery
What song makes you want to write a letter?
Today's prompt is an easy one for me. Letters From Home by John Michael Montgomery. Great song with a powerful message behind it in my opinion and one that fits today's prompt very well.
[Verse 1]
My dearest son, it's almost June
I hope this letter catches up with you and finds you well
It's been dry but they're callin' for rain
And everything's the same ol'-same in Johnsonville
Your stubborn ol' daddy ain't said too much
But I'm sure you know he sends his love
And she goes on, in a letter from home
[Chorus]
I hold it up and show my buddies
Like we ain't scared and our boots ain't muddy
And they all laugh like there's something funny
'Bout the way I talk, when mama sends her best y'all
I fold it up and put it in my shirt
Pick up my gun and get back to work
And it keeps me drivin' on, waitin' on
Letters from home
[Verse 2]
My dearest love, it's almost dawn
I've been layin' here all night long
Wonderin' where you might be
I saw your mama and I showed her the ring
Man on the television said something
So I couldn't sleep
But I'll be alright, I'm just missin' you
And this is me kissin' you
X's and O's in a letter from home

Mandolin Rain
Bruce Hornsby & The Range
What's your favorite song to listen to in the rain?
While not necessarily a song I love to listen to when it's raining, it's a song that quickly comes to mind when I think about it raining. Mandolin Rain by Bruce Hornsby & The Range. Such an amazing, underrated band and such an amazing song.
[Verse 1]
The song came and went
Like the times that we spent
Hiding out from the rain under the carnival tent
I laughed and she'd smile
It would last for awhile
You don't know what you've got till you lose it all again
[Chorus]
Listen to the mandolin rain
Listen to the music on the lake
Ah, listen to my heart break every time she runs away
Oh, listen to the banjo wind
A sad song drifting low
Listen to the tears roll
Down my face as she turns to go
[Verse 2]
A cool evening dance
Listenin' to the bluegrass band takes the chill
From the air, until they play the last song
I'll do my time
Oh, keeping you off my mind, but there's moments
That I find, I'm not feelin' so strong

Share a song that captures the feeling of being seventeen.
Today's prompt is an easy one. We're just going to go with the song Seventeen by Winger. Pretty appropriate since I was indeed 17 when the song was first released. Just one of those great rock songs from the hairband generation that I love to listen to.
[Verse 1]
Yeah, I saw sparks fly from the corner of my eye
And when I turned, ooh, it was love at first sight
I said, "Please excuse me, I didn't catch your name
Oh, it'd be a shame not to see you again"
[Pre-Chorus]
And just when I thought she was comin' to my door
She whispered sweet, and brought me to the floor
[Chorus]
She said, "I'm only seventeen (Seventeen)
I'll show you love like you've never seen" (Oh!)
She's only seventeen (Seventeen)
Daddy says she's too young
But she's old enough for me

I've not posted here in a couple of days now, so it's time to change that. The song that just came on my playlist that I have always enjoyed is Wind Of Change by the Scorpions. Just one of those songs that had a lot of meaning about world events back in the 80's and is just an overall great tune.
[Intro]
(Whistling)
[Verse 1]
I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change
(Whistling)
[Verse 2]
The world is closing in
And did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers?
The future's in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change
[Chorus]
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away (Dream away)
In the wind of change
Mmm

Christmas In Hollis
Run-DMC
What's a song you associate with your favorite holiday?
Since I missed doing a post on July 6th, I'm trying to catch up a bit. While I don't really have a favorite holiday, my favorite holiday song is hands down Christmas In Hollis by Run DMC. This just a goofy, silly song, with an even goofier, sillier video to go with it.
[Verse 1: Run]
It was December 24th on Hollis Ave after dark
When I seen a man chilling with his dog in the park
I approached him very slowly with my heart full of fear
Looked at his dog, oh my God, an ill reindeer
But then I was illin' 'cause the man had a beard
And a bag full of goodies, 12 o'clock had neared
So I turned my head a second and the man was gone
But he must've dropped his wallet smack dead on the lawn
I picked the wallet up, but then I took a pause
Took out the license and it cold said, "Santa Claus"
A million dollars in it, cold hundreds of G's
Enough to buy a boat and matching car with ease
But I'd never steal from Santa 'cause that ain't right
So I was going home to mail it back to him that night
But when I got home, I bugged 'cause under the tree
Was a letter from Santa and the dough was for me
[Verse 2: D.M.C.]
It's Christmastime in Hollis, Queens
Mom's cookin' chicken and collard greens
Rice and stuffing, macaroni and cheese
And Santa put gifts under Christmas trees
Decorate the house with lights at night
Snow's on the ground, snow white so bright
In the fireplace is the yule log
Beneath the mistletoe as we drink eggnog
The rhymes that you hear are the rhymes of Darryl's
But each and every year, we bust Christmas carols

Crazy Train
Ozzy Osbourne
I'm still a day behind, so the song I'm posting for July 5th is in honor of Ozzy and Black Sabbath doing their Back to the Beginning show, their final show ever. The song I've chosen is Crazy Train by Ozzy, as it's one of my favorites by him and such a great tribute to Randy Rhoads, who we lost way too early.
[Intro]
All aboard, hahahahahaha
Ayy
[Verse 1]
Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love and forget how to hate
[Pre-Chorus]
Mental wounds not healing
Life's a bitter shame
[Chorus]
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
(Let's go)
[Verse 2]
I've listened to preachers, I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts, who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role

God Bless The U.S.A.
Lee Greenwood
I was super busy yesterday so I missed posting this song. God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood. Very patriotic song as we all know, but I feel with everything going on in this country today, most of us simply aren't happy with our country like we were at one point. Regardless, still a song that I enjoy hearing and maybe at some point in the future it'll be a song we'll be proud to play again.
[Verse 1]
If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life
And I had to start again
With just my children and my wife
I'd thank my lucky stars
To be living here today
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can't take that away
[Chorus]
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up
Next to you and defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA
[Verse 2]
From the lakes of Minnesota
To the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea
From Detroit down to Houston,
And New York to L.A
Well there's pride in every American heart
And its time we stand and say

What's your favorite song to listen to while doing chores?
I wouldn't say I have a favorite song to listen strictly while doing chores, but I love songs that are very upbeat and really make feel like doing things. The one that comes to mind right at first is Bad Medicine by Bon Jovi. This is a song that just gets me moving and grooving as they say. Throws me back to the long hair 80's days and makes me jam!
[Chorus]
Your love is like bad medicine
Bad medicine is what I need
Woah-oh-oh, shake it up, just like bad medicine
There ain't no doctor that can cure my disease
(Bad medicine)
[Verse 1]
I ain't got a fever, got a permanent disease
And it'll take more than a doctor to prescribe a remedy
I got lots of money, but it isn't what I need
Gonna take more than a shot to get this poison out of me
And I got all the symptoms, count 'em, one, two, three
[Pre-Chorus]
First, you need (That's what you get for fallin' in love)
Then you bleed (You get a little, and it's never enough)
And when you're on your knees (That's what you get for fallin' in love)
Now this boy's addicted 'cause your kiss is the drug
[Chorus]
Woah-oh-oh, your love is like bad medicine
Bad medicine is what I need
Woah-oh-oh, shake it up, just like bad medicine
There ain't no doctor that can cure my disease
