I remember being 12 years old, working on a project out in a rundown garage outside an old farmhouse in rural Nebraska, listening to National Public Radio (my nerdiness runs deep), and they were reviewing recordings of Rachmaninov's Vespers. Instantly loved the piece, and my music world was never the same.
