I think it was the KISS live album Alive II, and I pick the opening track with the legendary live introduction: ” You wanted the best and you got the best. The hottest band in the world. KISS!”

Share a song that got you through a difficult time.

I love Sia’s music, especially the openness and vulnerability in her lyrics. I think many of us can relate — putting on a smile in front of others while hurting inside. “I’ll put my armor on, show you how strong I am.”

What song reminds you of your first love?

I was a young teenager, hopelessly in love for the very first time. This song felt like it had been written just for me. I even remember secretly writing the chorus on the inside of my school desk lid, like some grand declaration only I would ever see. Well, I was young… 😊

What is your favorite song from last year?

Hard to pick just one, but I’ll go with this awesome track.

Describe a concert that changed your perspective on music or life. Pick a song from that artist or band.

When I watched the British band Cast on Gino in Stockholm back in the late 90’s. It was a small, venue, nothing special, bu there was a vibe I had never experienced before. It felt magical! One of the songs they played was Alright from their first album.

What artist or band changed your music taste forever? Pick your favorite song of theirs.

I can’t really name one specific artist. What I can say, though, is that I discover music that’s completely new to me all the time.

It wasn’t always like that. Back then, I went through phases where I listened to the same kinds of music over and over, and I was pretty narrow-minded about it.

Somewhere along the way, that changed. I can’t quite explain why, but I feel like this shift isn’t just about music. It’s a bigger thing.

Either way, I’m glad it happened. So, today’s track is just one of many new artists and genres I’ve come to appreciate lately.

What was your favorite song in high school? Why did it resonate?

When I read today’s prompt, this song immediately came to mind. I was 18 when it was released. My life was nothing like Rick’s in the lyrics, but somehow the song still resonated with me.

Pick a song from an artist or band that’s had the biggest impact on your life.

That’s a tough one, almost impossible to answer, since so many bands and artists have had a big impact during different periods of my life. So I’ll just go with the first one that made me a true fan and got me collecting records, posters, and all the rest: KISS.

What is a song that instantly energizes you?

When this track comes on, it’s pretty much impossible for me to sit still. I love the vibe and energy. And the music video takes it to yet another level.
