What is a song by an artist you don't usually like?
I have no love for Rod Stewart, but the little mandolin riff that comes in and announces the outro of “Maggie May” is a moment of pop music transcendence that caught me off guard the first time I heard it and still always brings a smile to my face (and perhaps even a little air-mandolin playing if my teenage children are around to be suitably embarrassed by their cringey dinosaur of a dad).
