What song always makes you feel better?

For 3 women who have a bit of a reputation, both as solo artists and collectively, for making “sad girl music”, boygenius’ the record really made me happy in 2023/2024, especially when they let themselves rock a little. Highlights include “$20”, and “Satanist”, but the one that literally always puts a smile on my face is “Not Strong Enough”. The subtle chord changes in the exquisite “always an angel, never a god”build, the way each of them are featured in different parts of the song, the beautiful wrap up. It’s a perfect driving-with-the-windows-down summer jam that I could listen to any time of year and it will put me in that headspace of joy.
